EXPECTATIONS FOR TROOP 153
The mission of Troop 153 is to enable members of the Troop to participate in an overall program based on the three aims of Scouting: To Build Character, To Foster Citizenship and to Develop Fitness. In addition, to provide a well rounded program of exciting outdoor activities and fun focused on advancement to the Eagle Rank.

In order to achieve our mission, we intend to operate our Troop according to the guidelines of the Boy Scouts of America. These guidelines have been established over approximately 100 years and form the basis for one of the finest youth organizations in the world. Based on these guidelines the following expectations have been established for our Troop:

1. Our scout meetings are scheduled every Monday evening and start at 6:45 p.m. and end at 8:00 p.m. We expect the scouts to be on time for the beginning of the meeting and we also expect that they will be picked up on time at the end.

2. Each scout is expected to wear a complete scout uniform (Shirt, Pants/Shorts, Scout Socks, Scout Belt, Scout Neckerchief) at every meeting and troop activity. Campouts are no exception. We will wear our uniform when we travel and on Sundays. On occasion, we go to local District and Council programs where they require the scouts to wear their uniforms. When we are not wearing our uniform, we should be wearing a Scout T-shirt or other shirts and pants/shorts that show that we are scouts. Troop T-shirts are available for those who do not have one.

Also, all scouts are expected to wear their complete scout uniform when scheduled for a Board of Review.

3. Scouts should bring their Scout Handbook to the Scout meetings and Campouts.

4. When a scout has completed all of the requirements for a rank, he must have a Scoutmaster’s Conference. If everything is complete, the Scoutmaster will instruct him to see Mr. Capps (Troop Advancement Chairman) to sign up for a Board of Review. Scouts must not sign up for a Board of Review until they have completed the Scoutmaster’s Conference.

5. Those Scouts in Leadership Positions are expected to set a good example for the other scouts by wearing their complete uniform, being on time, and living the Scout Oath and Law. The SPL, ASPL, PL, Scribes and Troop Guides are expected to attend the Patrol Leaders Council meetings when they are scheduled.
